Manhattan: Irving Place - 18th Street

Irving Place, west side, from 18th Street to 20th Street and Gramercy Park. The four houses at and adjoining the N.W. corner of 18th Street are 65-67-69-71 Irving Place; 67-69 are to be demolished a year after this picture, and a 12-story loft building will rise on the site. The shops on Irving Place at and adjoining the S.W. corner of 19th Street are quite new; for years there was a gap, occupied by the back yard of 122 East 19th Street, the corner building. Behind 67-9 Irving Place may be seen the roof of the new 12-story National Arts Club, 14-15 Gramercy Park (South). About 1927 the old house at 18 Gramercy Park, on the S.W. corner of 20th Street and Irving Place, will be replaced by the 17-story Parkside Hotel; and after 1930 the rest of the block, old 81-83 Irving Place, at and adjoining the N.W. corner of 19th Street, will be replaced by a 16-story apartment house.
