Manhattan: West Street - Spring Street

New Freight Terminal Dedicated. The New York Central's New St. John's Park freight Terminal in Spring Street on the West Side of New York City, was formally dedicated June 28th with officials of the State, city and railroad present at exercises. The new freight terminal is part of the railroad's West Side improvement project. Above is a view of the elevated tracks on "Death Avenue" (Eleventh Avenue), taken from the North Side of the Terminal. The new development eliminates in part, the Dangers of "Death Avenue". 6/28/34
