Manhattan: Houston Street (West - Varick Street

Houston Street, western section (formerly Hammersley Street), west of, adjoining, and at Varick Street, view northeast. In the foreground, on the south side, excavation for the future United States Appraisers Stores Building is going on. On the north side may be seen the eastern wing, 250 West Houston Street, of Public School No. 95, and the south side of the new Maltz Building, which replaced 248-242 West Houston Street and 207 to 225 Varick Street, the entire west side of the northernmost block.
