Manhattan: Madison Avenue - 24th Street (East)

The 20-story Madison Ave. Building (No. 21-25); the 14-story Farragut Building (No. 19); and the 15-story Pullman Building (No. 17), at, adjoining and south of the S.E. corner of East 25th Street are seen being dismantled internally, in what is considered to be one of the largest demolition operations in years. This is being carried out by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, owners of the entire block of property, which includes the 16-story Metropolitan Life Annex Building (No. 11-15), visible at the N.E. corner of East 24th Street (right). The Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., according to a statement issued by it, does not plan to improve the land at present, but is clearing it for future use.
