Manhattan: York Avenue - 64th Street

York Avenue, from 64th to 67th Streets, seen from 63rd Street east of York Avenue. The clearing in the foreground, where the Ehret malting plant has just been demolished, will be seeded with grass and fenced around; and 64th Street east of York Avenue, where the truck is seen, will be permanently closed. On the west side may be seen 429 East 64th Street, built around 1905, 1215-29 York Avenue, from 65th to 66th Streets, built around 1927, and 1233-35-37-39-41 Avenue A (now York Avenue) from 66th to 67th Streets. The trees east of the Avenue above 64th Street are on the grounds of the Rockefeller Institute, which acquired the property about 1902. December 22, 1930. P. L. Sperr.
